I love music. I play a few instruments but lately i just center around electronic music. I come here mainly for the audio portal. Be sure to check out my stuff. I've been around newgrounds for a couple years now, i just can't remember my former login

Author's Response:

Hey dude, nice work. Its good to see a little bit of some IDM style music on here.
My only thing is that the drums are a little too distorted and techno like in some places for my tastes.... other than that, brillliant.
keep it up... and glitch it up ;-)
Author's Response:
Hehe thx. Maybe I will glitch it up. Lol.

For a trance song, thats not a bad little thing you got going on.
I'm not much of a trance/techno maker, so i can't lay down any constructive critisism right off the bat. The levels seemed good to me
Maybe some more backing melody lines or something like that.
Keep it up, eventually you'll get the hang of making music through programs.
Author's Response:
Many thanks for your criticism.
I only started using FL Studio about a week ago. Before, I used programs like GarageBand and ACID, so this is something new to me.

Very nice, bro. Some of your notes were a little "snappy" but, other than that, it wasn't a bad arrangement.
Very nice job at multi tracking.
Maybe put the first secondary guitar not so right speaker heavy. Pan them out a little better.
Let me know if you need drum tracks ;-)
Author's Response:
I do need drum track! :P for the second part of the song, the distorted one :P

i like this a lot! great usage of a slightly akward time signature
now use a really akward one like seven four or eleven eight ;-)
do you layer your beats?
how do you get the glitchy sound... do you just put a snare hit back to back really fast? or is there something more to it?
i'm experimenting with "faster" music like this, and i'd like to learn all i can about how the drums are created.
i have a faint idea, but there always might be something that i had no idea about you know?
Author's Response:
Feel free to PM me with any questions you might have. I'm no pro, but I'd be more than happy to share what i know :D

Sounds good!
all you need is a 6/8 beat rocking it in the background and you'll have yourself an amazing remix
Author's Response:
ohh its 6/8? damn ive had the hardest time finding this songs time sig. ive been trying to put some drums only couldnt find the right rhythm. ill get right on it. thanks for the review.

i liked it
don't be so self conscious... its not like you're broadcasting your face and home address out there...
if you're not willing to take constructive critisism, don't post your stuff.
remember, you are your own worst critic.
i think my stuff sucks, but i post it anyway...
i like the guitar and your voice sounds great
the whole song is pretty catchy!
FOUR'eD!
Author's Response:
thnx
can't help selfconsciousness... ive been told my voice sounds like "a cat being choked to death," so there are sometimes when i don't even like talking.
i'm willing to take the criticism, but i as an artist i fall into this trap of thinking about what the audience like sor dislikes, expects and doesn't, and thats all bs. it's silly to try and predict what your reactions will be.
i am my own worst critic
thnx

It sounds a little too electronic.
If you want to make it sound like a real drummer played it, put some volume difference in there. Instead of having the snare even in volume when you do little rolls, change the volume from lower to higher. Accent some notes.
Add flams (notes in low volume immediately followed by a note of high volume on the same instrument)
It sounds good, its just a little empty. Add some quick 16th/32nd notes between toms bass and snare, or to make it sound more musical, add some bass guitar over the bass drum.
I'm learning how to program drums like a real drumkit myself. I actually get behind my drumkit and play what i want to hear, then pay attention to how i hit everything. THen i adjust volume.
You'd be surprised at how much volume control could have a say in how real the sound is.
Author's Response:
awesome, thanks for the advice, I shall try changing it up a bit. Good luck on your work dude. =D
